Psalm 136:1-3
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.
This post is not going to be very long today. Just a short and simple reminder of the importance of giving Thanks. We can give thanks to our family, our friends, our teammates, our co-workers, our coaches, our pastors, our _______. You get the picture. Thanking someone for something is probably one of the first things you learn as a child (or perhaps try to teach your child). Not only is it a good habit for our all too selfish hearts, but it builds others up and encourages their spirit.
If we all agree on this, then wouldn't it be good to spend time (and not just today either) simply thanking the Creator of the Universe for all He has done for us. All He has bestowed upon us. All that He has provided for us. Thanksgiving is a great reminder of what we should be doing daily.
Here is the challenge for today:
Step 1
Get a group together
Step 2
Grab some paper and something to write with for each person
Step 3
Spend 10, 15, or 20+ minutes and have each person write down the Top 10 things they are thankful for at this very moment on their sheet of paper
Step 4
Come back together as a group and share with each other those things you are thankful for
Step 5
Finish off this time with some Praise to a God that makes it all possible
What do you like to do as a group to thank God and those around you??
